JALA is a theatrical dance work highlighting the Ego’s restless striving to gain and latch on to power. We investigate the universal ways individuals insistingly search for control, in a universe that works in spontaneous flow. In this work, we explore the dichotomous relationship between Ego and nature. Jal is the Hindu word for water, and Jala is one of the five elements or stages of prakriti in Hindu mythology. Water in this work represents the workings of our planet.
